Preparation
Put the 6 cups of water in the pan and bring to the boil. Then add the rice and keep the time on the package. If the package does not state how long the rice should boil, hold for about 10 minutes and taste if the rice is cooked. If this is not yet the case, let it cook for 2 minutes longer, until the rice is cooked.
Ingredients 4 people
4 cups (pandan) rice
6 cups water
2 eggs of normal size
1 onion
1 clove of garlic
(olive) oil
Salt
Pepper
Preparation method
When the rice is cooked, drain it. Fried rice is best to do with somewhat drier rice, so the longer the rice can stand until you bake it the better. But just cooked rice is also fine.
Cut the garlic into thin slices, as thin as possible. Then chop it into small pieces so that you do not come across any pieces of garlic in your rice. First, cut the out into quarters and into slices frying panon the fire and add a dash of (olive) oil. When the pan is well warm, put the onion in the pan and one minute later the garlic. Stir-fry a little until the onion looks slightly glassy (transparent). Then add the rice. Stir fry it a little so that you can hear the rice crackling a little on the hot pan. When the rice is slightly fried, and therefore drier, add the eggs. Scoop it quickly through the rice so that all rice is slightly yellow. Add salt and pepper to taste and fry it until it becomes nicely crispy.
Serving tip
Simply serve with meat and vegetables! Very tasty with chicken and beans.
